On May 30th, 2016 at 12:45 AM, Officer Michael Carpentier stopped a motor vehicle on West Alice Ave. for a traffic violation. While Officer Carpentier was speaking with the operator of the vehicle, the front seat passenger exited the vehicle multiple times. The female passenger attempted to interfere with Officer Carpentier while he tried to speak to the operator of the vehicle. Officer Daniel Byers arrived to assist Officer Carpentier and the female passenger continued to interfere with the officers. Officer Byers told the female passenger to stay in the vehicle multiple times.

While Officer Byers was standing at the front passenger side door, the female swung at Officer Byers striking him in the left forearm. The female was then taken into custody by both officers. While Officer Byers was placing the female in the backseat of his patrol car, she kicked Officer Byers in the chest with the heel of her boot. Officer Byers did not sustain any injuries from this incident. The female was identified as

Sutherland-White was transported directly to the Merrimack County House of Corrections due to her being extremely combative. During the transport, Officer Byers called for assistance on Interstate 93 northbound at exit 12 due to Sutherland-White escaping from her handcuffs while in the backseat of his patrol car. An officer from Concord and Bow Police Departments assisted Officer Byers with securing Sutherland-White into transport restraints. Sutherland-White is being charged with two counts of simple assault on a police officer and one count of resisting arrest. Sutherland-White is being held on $6,000 cash bail at the Merrimack County House of Corrections until her arraignment on May 31st, 2016.
